Starting a Search

 

To start a search the library catalog, navigate to the search bar at the top of the page and look for the magnifying glass icon on the left.  Enter any word and click the search button on the right. 

The catalog will automatically search by keyword. Click on the by Keyword dropdown menu to select other search parameters such as TitleAuthor, or Subject, as needed.

Pro Tip: You don’t have to sign in to use search, but if you do, you’ll be ready to go when you find items you want to check out or put on hold.

You can also use this search box to search library events across the county and search other people’s lists for recommendations. To do either, click the In Library Catalog dropdown menu and choose Events or Lists

  • Events will allow you to search through the library's public events [YES calendar]. 
  • Lists allows you to discover lists created and shared by library staff as well as New York Times bestseller lists.

 

TIP:  By leaving the search bar blank and clicking "Search," you can retrieve all items and filter them using the facets on the left-hand side of the search results.
